Summer floral installation with garden roses and trailing greenery

MiraandSamwantedtheirbackyardonOssingtontolookliketheirgardenhadsimplygottenwildly,beautifullyoutofhand.Notdecorated—overgrown.Wedrapedthepergolainsmilaxuntiltheroofdisappeared,thenwoveintrailingjasminethatwouldnotbloomuntilthesunwentdown—atimedrevealthecoupledidnotknowaboutuntilithappened.

Whatstruckusmostwashowdifferentthedesignlookedatdifferenthours.Theceremonyarrangementsweresoftandluminousinmorninglight,allcreamandpaleblush.Bydinner,incandlelight,thesameflowerslookedwarmer,deeper,almostgolden.Wehaddesignedforbothmoments,choosingvarietieswithenoughdepthtoshiftwiththelightratherthanwashout.
